Brixen, Italy - 05.26.2017 - Durst, the manufacturer of advanced digital production technologies, is revamping Brixen’s southern industrial zone. With the ground-breaking ceremony on May 26th, construction is underway on a customer and innovation center, which will be the company’s flagship, and symbol of its international orientation. The new building will also house the Durst Group’s central team of directors. The new head office is designed to not only provide functional and effective accommodation for the company, but it must also respectfully relate to the existing building, designed by architect Othmar Barth and built in 1963. Commissioned architects Patrik Pedò and Juri Pobitzer, from Monovolume, followed Barth’s original concept and created a flat, floating “wing” with a 6-story tower that will become a landmark in the Brixen area, with its height of 35 meters. The connecting construction, between the existing and new buildings, is an organically shaped “pixel façade” made from pre-fabricated lightweight concrete elements. This special construction, featuring fenestration patterns, will give the overall building its identifying characteristic, and highly recognizable look. The new building fits in with the existing structure like an all-encompassing parenthesis, allowing the construction work to be carried out as smoothly as possible without Durst’s operational processes being interrupted. The overall developed area spans 21,388 m2 plus 2,800 m2 of green space. 5,000 m3 of concrete, 430,000 kg of steel and 2,600 m2 of glass surfaces will be installed. Access for employees and customers is being reorganized, and is now achieved directly from the existing traffic circle, for increased convenience and safety.

Brixen, Italien - 15.05.2017 - Durst, Hersteller von zukunftsweisenden digitalen Produktionstechnologien, setzt die Roadmap für sein in 2016 gegründetes Segment, Durst Corrugated Packaging & Display Printing, erfolgreich fort. Nach ersten Kundeninstallationen des Delta WT 250 Multi-Pass Drucksystems mit Durst Water Technology, Anfang des Jahres, befindet sich Durst nun im Feldtest für sein Flagschiff Delta SPC 130. Das auf der Drupa 2016 als Konzept vorgestellte Drucksystem, basiert auf der neuesten Generation von Single-Pass Drucktechnologien, die Durst bereits in seinen Segmenten Label Printing und Ceramics Printing einsetzt. Mit einer Druckgeschwindigkeit von bis zu 9350 m2/h verfügt der Delta SPC 130 über die notwendige industrielle Produktivität, um den Verpackungssektor in Richtung digital zu transformieren. Neben der wirtschaftlicheren Produktion von Regal- und Verkaufsverpackungen in Klein- und Mittelserien, ermöglicht der Delta 130 SPC auch Bemusterungen, Individualisierungen und Versionierungen – unmittelbar und ohne Rüstkosten. Mit der Entwicklung eines kennzeichnungsfreien Tintensystems auf Basis der Durst Water Technology, ermöglicht Durst außerdem schon heute geruchsfreie und nachhaltige Verpackungsprodukte im LEH. Mit dieser Innovation konnte Durst Schumacher Packaging überzeugen und als strategischen Feldtest-Partner für das Erreichen der Marktreife gewinnen. Hamburg, Germany – 22 May, 2017 – Durst, manufacturer of digital production technologies, has formed a partnership with Ultima Displays, which is creating Centres of Excellences across Europe.
Ultima Displays is a one-stop solutions and hardware provider serving more than 6,000 dealers across 28 countries in Europe. It employs 285 people across the continent and has a £37 million (€44 million) turnover.
The first agreement in the partnership – announced during FESPA where both companies were exhibiting –involved a Durst Rhotex 325 system being installed at Nantes, France, in the week prior to the show. A roll-out involving at least three other systems will follow at sites in Corby, Northamptonshire, and in Gdansk, Poland, and Padova, Italy, from next year. The Durst Rhotex 325 scheduled for the UK headquarters will be a focal point for the Centres of Excellences being created.
France-based Philippe Bouffant, Chief Executive Officer of Ultima Displays, said: “We’ve discussed opportunities with other players in the market, but nobody can match Durst for quality, service and its partnership approach. The digital UV inkjet label press provides advantages to customers with the deployment of high pigmented inks and an increased productivity at a very low production costs. According to Fabio Rodrigo Moreno, owner of Versacolor, investments in cutting-edge technology and financial balance are the secrets to remain competitive in a very diversified market, such as in the self-adhesive labels segment.

The Tau 330E offers Versacolor the differentiation that the company is looking for, due to the integrated process of digital printing with UV inks, high speed and lower costs compared to other solutions. Fabio also highlights the fact that the Tau 330E printing technology does not require any kind of special treatment on substrates and has an in-line corona system and high-definition print quality. Targeted for small and medium companies in the label segment, The Tau 330 E prints with up to 5 colors (CMYK + W), a speed of up to 48 linear meters/minute and a resolution of up to 1260 dpi.
Brixen, Italy – 05/04/2017 – Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital production technologies, will be presenting various aspects of the subject of investment security and reliability at FESPA 2017. In the recent customer survey, “Perspective 2020”, Durst’s customers indicated that, in addition to technological innovation, customer integration has a particular relevance in working together to achieve commercial success. One example of what this type of commercial success can look like is illustrated by the development of roll-to-roll double-sided printing, which is available as a new option for the Rho flatbed printing systems. The starting point for the new feature was the company Eskils. The Swedish full-service printing provider began with large-format digital printing 10 years ago with two Rho 350 followed by two Rho 500, and invested in a Rho 1312 flatbed printing system with roll-printing option in 2015 in order to increase its productivity and expand its portfolio. Eskils’ core business is advertising media for the retail sector, where demand for products with double-sided printing has increased over time. Eskils’ technical director, Lars-Inge Brännmar, therefore faced the challenge of how to produce them 100% justified. As an initial solution, he developed marker points, but the constant manual working steps affected productivity. He imposed his requirement on Durst, and following a joint field test, the system for double-sided printing using sensors was developed into a viable product. The system is now available to all Rho users as an upgrade for the Rho 1312 as well as for the Rho P10 Series.

“Over the years, we have really come to value the reliability of Durst systems and were certain that, when we invested in the Rho 1312, we would have security of investment beyond the normal level thanks to Durst’s continuous development activities,” says Christian Nilsson, CEO of Eskils. “Of course, other companies are now also benefiting from our initiative, but we benefit from others, too.
